Introduction

Hyperkalemia is elevated plasma potassium levels above the normal limits that are approximately greater than 5.0-5.5mEq/l. Normal potassium levels in a range between 3.5 to 5.2mEq/l. mild levels of hyperkalemia are usually asymptomatic and while high levels may lead to hemodynamic consequences(Shin,et al, 2020). Acute hyperkalemia leads to life-threatening symptoms like cardiac arrhythmias, dyspnea, chest pain, nausea and vomiting, muscle weakness, and paralysis.
