The specific resources that may be needed by members of the community in such a case include personal identification documents, as well as FEMA to supplement other relief support services offered by the state and to provide funding. Furthermore, they should need support from the American Red Cross.

In areas where there is inadequate local support, the community aggregate may need household items, clothing, first-aid kit, cleaning supplies, packed food, drugs, personal identification documents, and credit cards.

There are several resources and knowledge deficits of the aggregate that the community health nurse should help it to address. The resource deficits include lack of a counselor, limited food items, and inadequate household items. The knowledge deficits of the community include inadequate skills to effectively manage disasters whenever they occur and limited information concerning the best agencies to approach whenever they are in need of support services. Furthermore, the community does not know how to overcome the stress that members may experience following a catastrophic event.

The main knowledge gap of the aggregate that the community health nurse can address is lack of expertise on how to effectively manage possible stress. The nurse should apply his or her counseling skills to help the survivors to attain normal emotional and psychological functioning (Loke & Fung, 2014).
