The proposed timeline to evaluate the PICC team are the metrics utilize from the scorecard:

Financial Perspective: The clinical center nursing the department will start the financial evaluation after three months of implementation of the project to comply with the $57,589,500.00 savings for the first quarter totaling in the amount of $230,358,000.00 for the initial year of implementation-a forty percent of the total loss of $575,895,000.00 due to prolonged hospitalization secondary to a central line associated-bloodstream infection (CLABSI).

Customer Perspective: “Customer satisfaction is the key factor to success and depends highly on the behaviors of frontline service providers” (Lee, Wang, Hsieh, Chien, Tsai, … & Dong, W. (2016). Patient and employee satisfaction rate will be done quarterly to match the result from yearly evaluation. The aftercare feedback survey for patients will be collected after every patient discharge while gaining positive results from other accrediting organizations like the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI), Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and the Magnet Program will increase satisfaction for all stakeholders.

Internal process: After three months of post launching of the PICC team with the new standard operating nursing procedures (SOP’s) developed as a guiding principle to facilitate engagement (Uzarski & Broome, 2019), leadership will evaluate the efforts made to excel and satisfy their patients, employees, and other stakeholders.

Learning and Growth: Educating is a strategy to promote and implement a positive change (Sare & Ogilvie, 2010), each unit clinical educators will maintain the competency of floor nurses every year during the Skills Day after the PICC team has been introduced to their unit. To encourage the staff to be involved, more effective, and promote a higher quality of service, annual recognition and celebration of accomplishment contributed by the PICC team and floor nurses in meeting the goal (Uzarski & Broome, 2019). An annual celebration is being conducted by the executives recognizing each nurse of every unit who maintains their certification in various areas of specialization, thus, promotes sustainability and productivity.

Sare and Ogilvie (2010) defined refreezing from Lewin’s Three Stages of Change as the last phase of change that it is now a new pattern of practice that will be followed by the facility, a habit that replaces the old ways of practice. Involvement of the nurse leader/change agent for at least three-six months during the refreezing stage in supporting and reinforcing a unit that is being affected by the change before staff will completely embrace the new method of nursing practice in our facility (Marquis & Huston, 2012).
